Friday Finds + 5 Things

Oops! It’s Saturday!  Things happen!  This week hasn’t been the best in recent memory.  I’ve had better, but on the other hand I have all these ideas – nearly bursting with them, so things are looking up.  The top happenings of my week, in no particular order:

  1. I’m running regularly again. It feels so great, especially since I’ve been running in the mornings. My days are so much nicer.
  2. Wednesday was crazy – and by crazy I mean crazy hot. I went and bought all this fruit to make popsicles with. I can’t seem to find any good popsicle molds anywhere and had to get these cheap jelly belly themed ones just to have something. Does anyone have any tips on good molds and sticks?  (I want something like this, but without the 6 week wait.)
  3. I made another lasagna last night, but with a tomato sauce base. It was crazy good. Fresh pasta sheets make the job so much easier, and much faster.
  4. I was told a few times that my skin is glowing this week. I guess those Ole Henriksen products I purchased over last weekend are doing a great job. Yeah!
  5. I was featured on Katie Tower’s blog in her Best Of Lifestyle series.  I’m really flattered, especially considering the company I’m with.  Thanks Katie!
And first off on my Finds:

Anabela took the prettiest photos of the Kinfolk dinner she attended. Needless to say, I’m jealous.  Her loot bag was pretty fantastic too.

And then of course there’s Crystal Meers on Closet visit with her adorable bangs and bright red lipstick.

Emma’s mood boards are so beautiful.

I’m crazy about these wall hangings that I found on the Brick House. Holy moley they are amazing – and she has more! Check ‘em out here, and here.

And finally,

This outfit and those bangs on the Sweet Thing blog. Love ‘em both.

Friday Finds + 5 Things

Woah! Today went by like a flash and although I had a few pics up on this post, it stalled for most of the day and I’m only getting to it now.  It’s nice when it’s late and the weather is terrible and you’re in your pj’s and you’re listening to something like this or this and thinking of your first dance… ♥

Good things happened this week – check it out.  Hope you all had lovely days this week too.

  1. I ran 16 minutes last night. Awesome! My chest felt great and my legs were pumping, but on my way to 17 I got crazy stomach cramps.  Bummer. Turns out I shouldn’t have gulped all that water and ate a handful of candy right before heading out. oops.  Going for 25 next time (2.5 miles!)
  2. We got some sun! And I made BREAD!
  3. I’ll be in NYC in exactly one week.  Where to go?
  4. I’m adding a bit to my blog here and there. I’m liking it.
  5. I’m nearly done designing my invites. heck yes.
As for my Finds…

Love this DIY for dip-die ribbons via Ruffled. (white velvet in minty green or light peach ombré?)
These nails done by Christina Rinaldi at Prima Creative are amazing. (via The Shape of Things)
My friend Mariel has a green thumb. She is really good with plants and has a knack for making them look so beautiful.
As blogged by everyone by now, but whatever it’s stunning: photos from ASOS SS12 from Park & Cube.
The opening scene from Untamed Heart. Especially inspired by the perfume application.

These are chocolate donuts with a blood orange glaze. enough said.

This bull planter, although pricey, is adorable.

And finally, these girls from Vanessa Jackman. How pretty!  (here and here) I especially love the hair on the second girl.

Friday Finds + 5 Things

Hope you have all had a great week!  I sat here for a bit trying to figure out what good things happened this week. I thought of one, and then another came, and well, here are the top 6 that I could think of!

  1. I finally received a coat (in beige) I ordered from Asos. I’m not sure if it’s too big or not but I love it nonetheless.
  2. My hair was curled not once, but twice this week. And it looked nice. I could get used to this whole gettin’ yer hair did before going to work, thing. Heck, I’m even planning on trying one of these styles out next week.
  3. I ran and it felt great. Even in the cold, even with ice, even with wind in my face.
  4. We finally finalized a place for the wedding. And the date. Woahhhhh.
  5. Amber from Wabi Blog did a reallly nice little post about my blog on Tuesday.  It made my heart swell :)
  6. I have a third post on Style Nine to Five. Check it out here.

And for my Friday Finds:

I’ve been thinking about work spaces lately.  This space would be too perfect. Jenna Brinning, you lucky girl.

I love these looks from Maurie & Eve in Australia.

Here’s some excellent identity work for Five and Dime by Bravo Company.

Jasmine Croissant via Closet Visit.  I love her quirky style.

This couple‘s style is pefect. (via Miss Moss)

I really want to try these cookies out. mmm Chocolate Toffee Cookies (at my baking addiction) and Hazelnut Toffee Chocolate Chip Cookies (at Bliss).

I’ve found the holy grail of romantic flower shots. It’s called Saipua. Her blog is just full of the most stunning flowers and bouquets you’ll ever see.

Happy Friday, and Happy weekend!

Friday Finds + 5 things

Oh Friday, here you are again. I’m happy.  Also, 2012 has been kind to me so far and I figure I should start recording all the good things that happen on a weekly basis… ya know, just to always remind me that life is good.

Here are a few things that got me smilin’ a bit more this week:

  1. I got news that we made a nice, considerable bonus at work. Best news ever to get on a Monday after the holidays.
  2. I’m now a Fashion Writer for Style Nine to Five. (Have you heard of them?  They’re a “one-stop fashion career website that brings fashion industry employers and job seekers together with a large listing of fashion jobs”. Yeah, Fashion jobs!)  Well, my first piece is up today. Check it out!
  3. I signed up for not one but two marathons. The first being in March and the second in May. Booyah gettin’ my ass into shape I am. This of course wouldn’t be happening if I weren’t taking this clinic at the Running Room. Good thing too because I’m feelin’ a wee bit like a blimp lately.
  4. The weather has been amazing. Yeah, it was -265 degrees on Tuesday but whatever, +6 tomorrow baby!  Looks like we’re going to have a nice weekend too.
  5. I’m practicing on my wacom that I got from Jason for christmas, and I’m getting pretty good… ;-)

. . .

And to start my Friday Finds? two great shots over on the Topshop Tumblr

This room is so delicate, and I’d love to crawl into that big striped comforter.

This portrait of Lana Del Ray is stunning

This Skin and Salt series over at My Lucky Undies Are Red is awesome (seen here, and here). (via Miss Moss)

These positive affirmation banners by Secret Holiday & Co. are lovely – little reminders are good to have around the house.

And this, because it’s true of all things.

And finally, This photo from Bawk Bawk is relaxing.

Friday Finds

Why hello friends. Good to see ya.

Yes, it’s friday. I’m rejoicing. This day is good in my books and it’s only half done.

It’s been a good week, but this weather is really getting to me . Seriously, people. Anything under 10 degrees and I start to whimper. On another note, I signed up for a jogging class/club. so we’ll chalk it up to a good week.

Anyways, back to Friday. Glorious Friday. and of course, my dear Friday Finds.

- -

Florence never, ever, ceases to amaze me. Ever.

The Astrology by Susan Millers at Russh is pretty amazing – I mean, take a look at these representational objects. (found via So Much To Tell You)

A Merry Mishap has some lovely earrings. Small enough to wear on a daily basis but lots of character to stand on their own.  The colours are so sweet too.

I also really love the Soap Bits over at Morning Calm. I’m a sucker for collections like this.  Go and take a look at her soaps, what beautiful gifts they would be…

I also really love these prints as gifts from Ribbon Squirrel. So dreamy…

I’m a fan of both Karla’s look, and this wicked colour and print combo from jak&jil.

This poster and colour palette over at Creatures of Comforts is nice.

I also love this Wanted List at Pennyweight (the collage is by Cassie from The Veda House)

Here’s a brilliant video I found over at Baby Hedgehogs. Guys, it’ll change your life. I can’t wait to try this… but maybe with smaller bowls?

These beautiful shots of Queen Margherita Pizza are also from Baby Hedgehogs.  And I agree with her, Pizza in Toronto is good. How ’bout we stop the pizza wars and just eat the damn pizza.

This NeuYear calendar that I found through Kickstarter is, I think, I good idea. Do you think it would help with organization?  Btw, have you heard of Kickstarter? I hope so, it’s a great idea that seems to be gaining momentum.

And finally, this cat scarf by Leah Goren. It’s awesome. (unfortunately sold…)

Have a great weekend lovelies,

Friday Finds

Hey, it’s Friday! Oh lovely lovely Friday, I’ve missed you.

It’s looking like we are gonna have a coooold weekend so bundle up folks! I’ll be having Brunch as per usual on Saturday, with a trip to the Kid Icarus’ Handmade Holiday to check out the wares. Should be good really.  The rest of the weekend I will probably be bundled up at home making some more home cooked meals. Perhaps even a chicken soup to share with you all :)

Here’s another issue of Friday Finds for you all. Enjoy!

First up: These gorgeous triangular necklaces from Emedemarta. I love the styling and photos… dreamy!

This caramelized cauliflower soup recipe from Sprouted Kitchen looks too good not to try… mmm weekend food project!

I have a girl crush on Glamour’s Beauty Editor, Susan Cernek. Great style.

This s’mores kit really makes me want to try it at home – a great DIY christmas present that is… fun right?  I’d try this marshmallow recipe.

These leather cat coasters are right up my alley.

Cat-shaped leather coasters, hand-dyed and hand-marbled in black, silver and charcoal tones. Each cat is one of a kind.

These posters by Alvin Diec are pretty awesome.

Rachel Been and Ben Brown’s Home via Design Sponge is full of fun and cute knick knacks…

And finally… this bow is both ridiculous and hilarious. I’d wear it on new years’s. ;-)

Have a great weekend guys,

Friday Finds 4

Oh hi Folks.

So this week was just not working for me – As you could maybe tell from my lack of posting. Monday could have been spent in bed with a good book or while watching some documentaries on tv but well, ya know – gotta bring home the dough! Tonight has actually been the first evening where I get to just sit in front of my computer and actually have time to blog.   I’ve also got a busy-ish weekend ahead of me and should have some fun things on Sunday to share.

What are your plans?

I have a few bits to share with you all, hope you all enjoy!

First off, this I’m Aways In Love poster by Adam Hayes.

I love this crystal iPhone cover via Wolfclub. Ridiculously pretty.

Also from Wolfclub? This little white outfit which I love.

I also love this metallic number by Arsndorf via Turned Out. Dang, that colour is amazing.

Speaking of colours, I love the yellow in this photos via Eat Sleep Wear (And the smile is nice too)

I also really like these patterns, this desk setup, as well as these paper bag garbage bins at weekday carnival (BTW this blog is great for inspiration) via Hello, I’m Tiger.

Oh goodness, and then there’s Hello Sandwich which has endless inspiration, at least when it comes to cute crafty goodness in the form of japanese tape.

Speaking of cute, take a look at this gift wrapping I found over at Minimega.

Oh, and if you love the colour in that decorative paper, check out this cutting board and that coaster from Annapernilla.

I’ve been obsessed with sweaters over button-ups lately. well, maybe not just lately but it’s been my outfit for a bit now.  This a a great combo, via Andrew Nuding.

And finally… This kitty glamour shot via Woozles.
